Khalistan National Army Threatens to Blow Up Delhi Assembly: Email Sent to Speaker Triggers Massive Security Alert
In a major breach of perceived security, the Delhi Assembly, located in the heart of India’s high-security capital, received a serious bomb threat via email. The incident has sparked criticism of the security apparatus and triggered an immediate, high-intensity response from law enforcement agencies.
According to Indian media reports, security concerns escalated dramatically after an email threatening to blow up the Delhi Assembly was sent directly to the office of the Speaker. Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta promptly shared the threatening email with intelligence and security agencies for immediate action.
The Threat and the Demands
The sender of the email claimed affiliation with the Khalistan National Army (KNA) and laid out specific demands, warning of an explosion if they were not met. Following the receipt of the threat, security forces were placed on high alert, and a comprehensive search operation was launched within the Assembly premises.
In an official statement posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the Delhi Assembly confirmed that all necessary measures were being taken to ensure the safety and security of the complex.
Speaker Vijender Gupta has urged security agencies to swiftly trace the origin of the threatening email. He emphasized the need to identify those responsible and to effectively neutralize any potential threats to the Assembly and its leadership.
A Pattern of Threats in the Capital
This alarming incident is not an isolated one. It comes amid a recent spate of similar bomb threats targeting sensitive locations across New Delhi. In the days leading up to this threat, both the Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan and the Air Force Bal Bharati School on Lodhi Road received identical bomb threat emails.
Security sources have confirmed that in the wake of these recurring threats, surveillance and security protocols across the national capital have been significantly tightened. Cyber crime units and intelligence agencies have launched a joint investigation to track down the origins of these emails and uncover the elements behind the conspiracy.
Security Agencies on the Back Foot
As of the latest reports, despite deploying maximum resources and conducting extensive technical analysis, Indian security and intelligence agencies have so far been unable to trace the sender of the threatening email or determine their precise location. The inability to trace the source has raised serious questions about the preparedness and efficiency of the security establishment in dealing with emerging cyber-enabled threats.
