Force (PAF) has shot down two Indian Rafale fighter jets that violated Pakistani airspace. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)
The incident occurred after Indian jets crossed the Line of Control and entered Pakistani territory. In response, PAF immediately launched a counter-operation, targeting and downing the intruding aircraft. One Rafale jet crashed in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, while the second went down on the Indian side.
The captured Indian pilot is currently receiving medical treatment, and a video released by ISPR confirms his identity and detention.
This comes just hours after India launched missile strikes on multiple locations inside Pakistan under its so-called “Operation Sindoor.” At least three civilians were killed and several others injured in the Indian attacks, which included strikes on Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, and Mirpur.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called India’s actions a declaration of war and vowed a “full-force” retaliation. “Pakistan will not tolerate any aggression. We will defend every inch of our land,” he stated during an emergency press briefing.
The Pakistani military’s downing of the Rafale jets is being seen as both a tactical and psychological blow to India. The Rafale, a multi-billion dollar investment by the Indian government, is considered one of the most advanced fighter jets in their fleet.
The international community, including key global powers, has urged both nations to show restraint and prevent further escalation. However, with both sides trading military strikes and rhetoric, the risk of full-scale conflict looms larger than ever.
Pakistan’s decisive response today sends a clear message: it is fully prepared to defend its airspace, and any violation will be met with force. As the situation develops, the region—and the world—watches with bated breath.
